करिश्मा कपूरनं तिच्या बॉलिवूड करिअरमध्ये अनेक रोमँटिक सिनेमा दिले. मात्र तिच्या रियल लाइफची लव्ह स्टोरी मात्र हॅप्पी एंडिंग होऊ शकली नाही. त्यावेळी करिश्मा खूप खूश होती जेव्हा हां मैंने भी प्यार किया या सिनेमानंतर तिचा साखरपुडा अभिषेक बच्चनसोबत झाला होता.
बच्चन कुटुंबानं भव्य कार्यक्रमात करिश्माचं आपल्या कुटुंबात स्वागत केलं होतं. मात्र काही दिवसांनंतर त्यांचं नातं तुटलं आणि अभिषेक करिश्माचे रस्ते वेगवेगळे झाले.अभिषेक बच्चनसोबत साखरपुडा मोडल्यावर लगेचच करिश्माचं लग्न बिझनेसमन संजय कपूरशी ठरवण्यात आला. 2003 मध्ये या दोघांचं मोठ्या थाटामाटात लग्न झालं.
मात्र लग्नाच्या अवघ्या 7 वर्षांतच या दोघांचा घटस्फोट झाला. 2010 ला करिश्मा आपल्या मुलांना घेऊन माहेरी निघून आली.संजय आणि करिश्मा यांच्या घटस्फोटाची केस सुद्धा बराच काळ चालली. दरम्यानच्या काळात दोघांनीही एकमेकांवर बरेच गंभीर आरोप केले.
करिश्मानं संजयच्या कुटुंबाबद्दल अनेक गोष्टी उघड केल्या तसेच तिला मानसिक त्रास दिल्याचा आरोप केला. त्यानंतर संजय सुद्धा गप्प बसला नाही.करिश्मा आणि संजयच्या घटस्फोटाची केस सुरू होती. त्यावेळी संजयनं कोर्टात एक याचिका दाखल केली होती. ज्यात त्यानं म्हटलं होतं की, करिश्मानं हे लग्न केवळ पैशाच्या हव्यासपोटी केलं होतं. त्यानं करिश्माशी झालेल्या लग्नाला एक जाणून बुजून खेळलेली चाल आहे असं म्हटलं होतं.
इंडिया टुडेच्या वृत्तानुसार या रिपोर्टमध्ये संजयनं हे लग्न मोडण्याला केवळ करिश्मा जबाबदार असल्याचं म्हटलं होतं. तसेच अभिषेक बच्चन तिला जो झटका दिला होता त्यातून बाहेर पडण्यासाठी तिनं माझ्याशी लग्न केलं असा आरोपही त्यानं केला होता.
संजय म्हणाला, करिश्मानं माझ्याशी लग्न फक्त अभिषेकनं तिला दिलेल्या धक्क्यातून बाहेर पडण्यासाठी केलं होतं. ती पैशांची लालची आहे. त्यासाठी तिनं अनेकदा मला मुलांना भेटू दिलं नाही. मी समायरा आणि कियानला भेटण्यासाठी व्याकूळ व्हायचो मात्र तिनं ती मला त्यांना भेटू देत नसे.
